SPICY BABY TATTOO

Hello! Bonjour! 你好! こんにちは! My name is 樂 (lè/yuè). My pronouns are he/they 他. 

I am a trans Teochew-Canadian multi-disciplinary artist, designer, and activist based in Tiohtiá:ke/Montréal, Quebec. My practice is oriented towards fueling experiences of joy, empathy, and connection, and informed by thoughts and ideas that are authentic to my diasporic experience. These include gender, racialization, queerness, language, and identity. I am a firm believer in mobilizing art as a tool of resistance, instigating acts of vulnerability, and channels to uplift one another.

In my tattoo practice, I often work with Chinese and Japanese illustrations, 60s Shanghai animation, Edo/Meiji woodblock prints, images, textures and patterns in my daily life. I also do printmaking, so I like to incorporate a variety of mixed influences.
